I love Kobayashi but i have to also give it up for another legend in the making who happens to be from my end of the world. Joey Chestnut is not only from Northern California but also a student at my alma mater, San Jose State University. Here's another useless fact for most of you... he won his first eating contest in Stockton where the wifey is from. I've never been to the Asparagus Festival in Stockton but i believe ever since Chestnut won the Fried Asparagus Spear Eating Contest in 2005 he's won it every year since then and holds the current record of 8.6 lbs in 10 minutes which he broke this past year! Yikes! For those of you have eaten asparagus before damm that urine must have stayed green and smelly for months!
