I wish i knew....

vs.

Two weeks ago we took the kids to see their first ever movie at the local Century theater cineplex. It was the summer hit "Kung Fu Panda" so you can imagine how excited Mini Me was to experience a cartoon movie on a screen a hundred times as big as our 27 inch tube. For the wife and I it had been close to five years since we saw a movie in a theater so we did anticipate a little bit of a price hike from then to now even for a matinee showing. So her i go... the attendant right away recognizes that there is four of us. She enthusiastically says "2 Adults and 2 Children"? I looked back at the wife and my little princess, who just turned one, then turned back to the attendant and in almost an impudent manner said "Uh no, actually 2 Adults, 1 Child, and an infant who is just a 1 yr. old". The attendant then says to me "Well sir we just changed the child age to all persons a year old to eleven in March". I gave her a sarcastic laugh, made some other harebrained comment, and paid the $31.50. I couldn't believe it! It was classic highway robbery!

The choices in show times that day were a matter of 25 minutes or so from one theater to the other. Had we chose AMC Theaters instead my little girl would have been FREE! The Child price was the same as Century Theaters but the age limitation was from 2 yrs to 12 yrs old. Between now and next May when my baby girl turns two and the whole family has an opportunity to see another movie again....you can count on us going to AMC Theaters. That is if the pricing structure doesn't change to follow suit of it's rival Century. Blah!
